West Cork is a wonderful place to have an adventure as a family.  Not only is it a place of tremendous scenic beauty, but it is a friendly, safe place with strong community spirit and goodwill.  Families can explore everything from mountains, bogs, forest trails, clifftops theater and cinema, to festivals, culture, history and heritage.  

West Cork’s natural geography boasts 3 peninsulas and 7 islands just begging to be explored.  Some of Europe’s finest drives are located in West Cork with spectacular mountain passes such as the Healy Pass, Caha Pass, Sheep’s Head and Goats Path all waiting to be admired.  Families will also find that there is an interesting playground in almost every village along the way which make for a great places to break a journey, have a snack, stretch your legs and soak up the atmosphere.

With an average of rain on 212 days a year in Munster, it is always advisable to dress warmly or to be prepared for at least three seasons in a day. Every care has been taken to make sure the information provided in the posts is accurate and up to date but it may still be wise to ring in advance especially if you are travelling any distance to make sure opening times and prices have not changed.
